Letter "Mem"/ Letter "L"/ Monthly Unit "Brachot"- Haadama and Haetz/ Parsha: Yaacov and Eisav!

Helloooooooo everybody! What a busy week we had! Letterv "mem came full force! Morah Mathy and Meira were so happy we were finally learning their letter. Letter "Mem" says lots of "Mitzvot" like: "Matza", "Mezuza", "Megila" and "Menorah". We focused on the Mitzvah of "Mezuza". We made special Mezuza cases out of recycled markers and made sure to kiss it when we went through the door! .....
Uncle Moishi's "Mezuza" cd was perfect companion and we all loved to pretend we were "Mini ucle Moishi" by puttion letter "Mem" on our heads......

Letter "L" was really fun! We loved learning a new color "Lavender" and were so excited to decorate a "Lavender" "L" with fancy "Lace" ! Letter "L" also says "Lava"! Imagine our excitement when we mixed baking soda and vinegar and saw the amazing reaction!!!!!  We also made awesome "Lion" masks !
"L" tastes like "Lemon" and "Lentils" and we tasted both! We made our own "Lemonade" and a very healthy "Lentil soup"

One of our favorite times in school is to listen to the stories from the Torah! Learning about the twins Yaacov and Eisav was Fascinating! The best part is when we apply the Parsha to real life like when we made our own "Lentil soup" just like Yaacov made and fed Eisav!
We made Yaacov and Eisav masks to recreate the story at home.
Even Eisav was wicked and mean He kept one Mitzvah to the fullest "Kivud Av vaEm". We made signs for our parents room to make sure we respect them and let them rest when they are tired...

We listen to instructions so nicely ...

Morah Mathy telling us the recipe...

of to work!

how professional!!!

now on to the fire!

This month monthly unit is so important for our daily lives. Hashem put in his world food and resources for us to be able to eat and grow strong and healthy. We loved learning about the process a little seed goes though until becomes a fruit or a vegetable!. We also learned about the tools a farmer needs to grow his vegetables!. We specially liked playing with real soil and pretending to plant. this week we focused on fruits that grow from the trees and ground. We made a unique tree and searched for fruits that grow from the ground or the trees in newspapers and cut them out for our bulletin board! We are getting really good with our "Brachot"

if it grows from the ground...

if it grows from the trees we say Haetz...
