Letter "Lamed" / Letter "K"/ "Winter Wonderland"/ Tu B'Shvat/ George Seurat .

Hey thereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Although this week was cold and very rainy we manage to have the best week! Here we go.....
Letter "Lamed" stands out in the Aleph-Bet! It is the tallest letters! We had a good laugh when Morah told us how "Lamed" loves to sing "lalalalala" in silly voices!
"Lamed" says "Lev" (heart) and "Love". We decorated the "Lamed" with cut out "Lev" and also got to trace them! We discussed ways to show our family and friends how much we love them.
Letter Lamed says "Llama". After looking at pictures of real "Llamas", We listened to different stories of
"Llama, Llama"... by Anna Dewdney. We love the collection! We love reading them over and over!

For Letter "K"  we decorated Big and small "K" by tracing "Keys" on them.  We Loved building different sizes "K" out of  various materials and toys. We put our fingers to work when we made beaded "Key chains" for our parents !

We placed the Keys under the "K" paper and we rubbed crayons over them !

Check out my key chain!

So cool! We got very interesting "Key" shapes  and designs!

concentration!

team work!

Tu B'Shvat is almost here! We were amazed to learn how big trees come from a tiny seed ! We loved learning and looking at pictures of every stage of a tree life and loved seeing, touching and exploring a real one!

we incorporated "George Seurat" technique to make a beautiful "Tu B'Shvat" tree for our bulletin board .

We played with cool tree brunches blocks and made "Winter trees"

hand print trees!!!!

We were amazed at the process a tree goes through until it becomes a big tree!

we  felt the many layers of the tree trunk !

WoW! how big is this tree??

We loved touching the bumpy bark of the tree!

Eliyahu managed to get a big piece of bark for the whole class!

No matter how hard we tried to push the tree down the tree we couldn't!

We learned how the roots hold the tree to the ground !

We were fascinated by how far the roots reached!

We followed the paths of the roots!

under the bark we found smooth wood!

Painting our flower pots for our edible trees!

We decorated them "George Seurat style.

We baked a cake, which will be the "Soil" for our edible trees!

We created stunning trees with paper towels yarn and fake leafs!

What a perfect week to learn about Winter around the world and have our much anticipated "Winter Wonderland". it was so interesting to hear how all the creatures from Hashem react to winter! After talking and reading books about bears Hibernating and birds migrating we made our own cute bears and put them in a warm cave, to keep warm over the winter.

shhhhhh bears sleeping...

we made our bear out of pom-poms!

how cute????

more cuteness!

this is too much!!!!

We put the bears to sleep in a cave for te winter!
